| Robins Turn Back Fraser Valley, 6-4 | Starting pitcher Francisco Varela pitched well enough to help the Bristol Robins beat the Fraser Valley Black Bears by the score of 6-4. Bristol reliever Dustin Thomas got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Dusty Mast was tagged with the loss. Arturo Mercado earned the save, his 13th.
Cristóbal Rodríguez aided the Bristol cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop drove in one run.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Varela told a Bristol Daily reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
The Robins now have a mark of 22-30.
