| Hawks Walk It Off for 18th Win of Season | The Hawks had to overcome a fine effort from Rock River pitcher José Mendoza to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Basque Block Field. Mendoza went 8.1 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The Hawks sit in 5th place in the Cory Lidle League Lou Piniella League with a record of 18-32.
The Hawks got a big at-bat from third baseman Cletus Roop. For the game, Roop went 3 for 6 with 3 singles. In the bottom of the 13th, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Boise a 3-2 lead.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Roop. "Maybe this win will help."
