| Wolverines Scratch and Claw to 8-5 Win | The Wichita Wolverines topped the Silicon Valley Hackers, 8-5, in Roy Halladay League action at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The player of the game was Wichita pitcher Brodie Juhl. Wichita reliever Hiroki Saito picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Butch Eviston was collared with the loss. Silicon Valley's current losing streak is now 5 games.
Jorge Maya's hit in the top of the 12th was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Tom Murchison for a 2-run double. It put Wichita in front, 7-5.
"There's no quit in this team," said Wolverines manager Chris Carpenter.
