Late Rally by Wolverines Secures Win

Wichita first baseman Ossie Zurita was instrumental in his team's 7-6 win over the Riverside Red Bulls. Zurita went 2-3 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Wolverines. Wichita reliever Joel Stapleton was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Ramon Trinidad. Riverside's current losing streak is now 4 games.

Zurita had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a 2-2 slider from Ramon Trinidad, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Wolverines a 7-6 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Zurita.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Zurita, "but we got it done."
