| Hawks Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | Tommy Montgomery never let the Red Bulls get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Hawks to a 4-1 win. Ray Toye earned the save, his 9th. The 5th-place Hawks have won 4 in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Manny Vasquez came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Riverside pitcher Ramon Trinidad, he hit a 0-1 slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Boise on top, 2-1.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Vasquez.
