| Islanders Turn Back Belfast, 6-5 | Getting a good performance from first baseman Jordan Vargas, the Hawaii Islanders defeated the Belfast Titanic, 6-5. Vargas hit 2 home runs for the Islanders. Amaui Mahi'ai got the save, the 3rd for him this season. The Islanders, now 3-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Zane Mogeni drove in one run for Hawaii. The three-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Juan Salinas. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Vargas told the Hawaii Herald.
