| Beetlecats Nip Vesuvius, 6-5 | The Cape Verde Vesuvius got a superb performance from left fielder Gary Corbett. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Buzzard's Bay. The Beetlecats won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Corbett was named the player of the game. He went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Buzzard's Bay reliever Anton Garcia was the winner. His record is now 3-2. The losing pitcher was Carlos Romero. At 18-23, Buzzard's Bay is in 5th place in the Cory Lidle League Gene Mauch Division.
Juan Cruz aided the Buzzard's Bay cause with a 2-run double in the bottom of the first. For the game, the catcher went 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Cruz.
