Storm Troopers Come Back Late to Clip Beehive

Chase Hoene made an impact in the 8-7 San Antonio win over Madison. Hoene was 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI. The winner was Mike Muller in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kris Richardson took the loss. Eric Markle, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.

Had Trent John not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, John hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 8-7, in favor of the Storm Troopers.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said John. "And not try to do too much."

The Storm Troopers bumped their record to 23-20 with this latest triumph.
