| Wolverines Come Back Late to Clip Snaps | The Wolverines had to overcome a fine performance from Cincinnati pitcher Lorenzo Diaz to grab a 3-2 win at The Studio. Diaz allowed 2 earned runs over 7 innings. Ken Morita, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Joel Stapleton, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 13th save.
Had Adrian Janis not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Janis hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Wolverines.
"Big team win," Janis said later.
The Wolverines bumped their record to 22-19 with this latest triumph.
