| Bulldogs Come Back Late to Clip Cornhuskers | DeKalb catcher Gerald Easler had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Easler was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times, even as Spokane beat the Cornhuskers, 6-5. Easler was named the player of the game despite the loss. Kyle Lavole, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. Ramon Romandia, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when designated hitter Adam Deming, the 14th overall pick in the 2032 draft, drew a walk. The Bulldogs went on to win.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Deming told the Spokane Citizen.
The Bulldogs bumped their record to 23-17 with this latest triumph.
