| Black Bears Come Back Late to Clip Spartans | Fans who gathered at The Stetson Bowl saw a good contest between the Fraser Valley Black Bears and Sandy Springs Spartans.
Sandy Springs designated hitter Dennis George had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. George went 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, even as Fraser Valley beat the Spartans, 6-5. George was named the player of the game despite the loss. Fraser Valley reliever Wei-sng Mak was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Miguel Padilla took the loss.
Jorge Sandoval was the walk-off hero for Fraser Valley. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Black Bears right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Sandoval said in his postgame press conference.
The second-place Black Bears lifted their record to 24-17.
