The Madison Beehive topped the Bradenton Marauders, 3-2, with youngster Edwin Alvarez playing a key role. Alvarez went 3-4 with 3 singles for the Beehive in the win. Madison reliever Emilio Aguinaga picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mario Michaca absorbed the loss.
Jesus Najera aided the Madison cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the shortstop was 2-4 with 2 singles.
