| Lopez, Ducks Rough Up Black Bears | The Long Island Ducks had no problem beating the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 17-3, at Long Island Stadium. Jose Lopez led the way. He was 3-5 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 5 for Long Island. Jerry Hughes, credited with the win, is now 2-4. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 6.1 innings. The Ducks are off to a tough start, getting just their 12th win in 32 games.
Lopez had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the eighth inning, when he hit a 3-run home run. The Ducks went on to win.
