| Kajiwara Goes Wild, But Ducks Win | The Long Island Ducks overcame a good performance by Sandy Springs first baseman Naoto Kajiwara to knock off Sandy Springs, 19-18, at The Coliseum. Kajiwara went 2-4 with 2 home runs and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 6. Long Island is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 11th win in 30 games.
Had Kent Owen not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Owen hit a 2-run single. That made the score 15-13, in favor of the Ducks.
