| Hawks Stymie Silicon Valley, Take 4-1 Win | Boise Hawks starter Yoshiyuki Matsuda turned in a top-notch performance against the Silicon Valley Hackers at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The result was a win for the Hawks, 4-1. Matsuda, now 2-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 2, walking 0, and allowing no earned runs. Ray Toye sewed up the save, his 6th.
Ryan Egan aided the Boise cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the catcher was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Matsuda told the Boise Herald.
The Hawks are off to a tough start, getting just their 9th win in 32 games.
