Big Day for Chavez as Spartans Down Ducks, 9-4

The 2038 season is getting ugly for Long Island.

Sandy Springs second baseman David Chavez had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Long Island Ducks, 9-4. Sandy Springs starter Manuel Montoya was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-0.

Bill Corkum, who is tied for 10th in the RHL in stolen bases with 7, chipped in for Sandy Springs with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Chavez said.

The Ducks drop to 10-19 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2038 season.
