| Victory Pushes Storm Troopers Record to 17-15 | The Carson City Mustang got a superb performance from designated hitter Gregório Gosende. Still, it wasn't enough to beat San Antonio. The Storm Troopers won the game, 8-6. In spite of the loss, Gosende was named the player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. San Antonio reliever Barnes Boersma picked up the win to move to 1-0. Tino Gonzalez suffered the loss. Ryan Davis recorded his 8th save for San Antonio.
The Storm Troopers got a big at-bat from left fielder Edwin Ruiz. For the game, Ruiz went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave San Antonio a 5-4 lead.
"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Ruiz. "But it's all business when we're on the field."
The loss drops Carson City to 19-14.
