| Ducks Win 5-4 Walk-Off | The Long Island Ducks racked up a win at Long Island Stadium, bumping off the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats, 5-4. Lance Rose, who started for Long Island, pitched effectively for his team. Reliever Takamasa Oki picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Kenny Moran took the loss. The Ducks are off to a tough start, getting just their 9th win in 27 games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Long Island second baseman Ichiyo Yano, facing Robert Escobedo, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Ducks the 5-4 win.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Rose said.
