| Cornhuskers Trip Storm Troopers in Extras | The DeKalb Cornhuskers topped the San Antonio Storm Troopers, 6-4, in Roy Halladay League action at The Clone Army. The player of the game was DeKalb pitcher Andrew Thompson. The win was credited to Jose Acosta in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Tim Carson took the loss. Picking up the save was Ismael Mejia, his 1st.
The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Rich Mireles. For the game, Mireles went 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the 13th, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave DeKalb a 6-3 lead.
Thompson expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
The win gives the Cornhuskers a record of 11-9.
