| Barnhart hits 3rd home run, Mustang Move to 13-8 | The Carson City Mustang defeated the Sandy Springs Spartans, 12-4, at The Coliseum. Carson City shortstop Chris Barnhart was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The Spartans, now 5-13, continue their poor start.
Barnhart had a big at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the fourth inning, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Mustang went on to win.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Barnhart told the Carson City Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
