| Vesuvius Solve Tune-Ups, 5-3 | Cape Verde pitcher Tommy Pucher did his part in helping his team beat the Youngstown Tune-Ups, 5-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was Pucher, now 2-1. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Cape Verde, now 12-7, has gotten their season off to a good start.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when shortstop Yeong-il Choy hit a single. The Vesuvius went on to win.
Choy told a Cape Verde Times reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
