The Marysville Monarchs defeated the Bristol Robins, 3-2, in Cory Lidle League action at Mitts Fieldhouse, with Marysville pitcher Lazaro Flores named player of the game. Getting the save was A.J. Schneider, his 4th.
Tony Alburez drew 1 walk for Marysville. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ken Ducklow. It was his 5th walk of the season.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Flores said.
The Robins, at 4-11, have stumbled out of the gate.
