| Victory Pushes Wolverines Record to 8-5 | The Wichita Wolverines got a strong performance from pitcher Tsugunao Carroll, who stymied the Cincinnati offense en route to a 8-0 win at Howling Park. Carroll got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 5 over 6 innings. Carroll allowed no earned runs. Getting the save was Marlo Freeman, his 2nd.
The Wolverines got a big at-bat from third baseman Danny Salazar. For the game, Salazar went 1-3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 2nd double of the season gave Wichita a 2-0 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Salazar.
Wichita, now 8-5, has played well in the early going.
