| Beetlecats Bridle Vesuvius, 1-0 | Fans who came to Conduit Caverns watched the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats and the Cape Verde Vesuvius fight to the finish.
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats did just enough to sneak past the Cape Verde Vesuvius, 1-0, at Conduit Caverns. Buzzard's Bay pitcher Andrew Welborn earned player of the game honors. Picking up the save was Justin Keling, his 2nd.
The Beetlecats got a big at-bat from center fielder Mike Marti. For the game, Marti went 1 for 2 with a double and a walk. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave Buzzard's Bay a 1-0 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Welborn.
The win lifts Buzzard's Bay to a record of 5-7.
