| Monarchs Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Marysville Monarchs got the win.
The Monarchs grabbed a win, 4-3, at Mitts Fieldhouse, overcoming a fine effort from Bristol pitcher Francisco Varela. Varela went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The Robins fall to 4-9 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2038 season.
The Monarchs got a big at-bat from catcher Nick Wood. For the game, Wood was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 11th hit of the season gave Marysville a 4-3 lead.
Wood said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
