Cornhuskers Turn Back Long Island, 1-0

Francisco Perez pitched well, but his team, the Long Island Ducks, still dropped a 1-0 decision to the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Corn Crib. The save was credited to Ray Burns, his 4th. The Ducks fall to 5-6 and continue their wobbly start to the 2038 season.

Rich Mireles aided the DeKalb cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 4.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Mireles said.
