Tornadoes Prevail, 2-1, Over Quebec

The Kansas City Tornadoes did just enough to sneak past the Quebec Armada, 2-1, at Debris Field. Kansas City pitcher Tony Saldana earned player of the game honors. The first-place Tornadoes have a one-game lead in their division.

Had Ervin Brewbaker not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Brewbaker hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Tornadoes.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Saldana said.
