| van der Pol goes 4-for-5, Bulldogs Move to 6-4 | The Spokane Bulldogs beat the Long Island Ducks, 12-7, at The Kennel. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Jimi van der Pol, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Spokane, now 6-4, has gotten their season off to a good start.
The Bulldogs got a big at-bat from left fielder Ross Stephenson. For the game, Stephenson was 1-3 with a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 18th hit of the season gave Spokane a 8-7 lead.
