Wolverines Stymie Carson City, Take 3-1 Win

The Wolverines had to overcome a fine performance from Carson City pitcher Raúl Lugo to grab a 3-1 win at Cowboys Stadium. Lugo allowed no earned runs over 5.2 innings. The win was credited to John Hensley in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Kevin Murphy took the loss. Wichita, now 4-2, has played well in the early going.

Gil Keyworth helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring triple to give Wichita a 1-0 lead.

"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Keyworth.
