| Cornhuskers Win at Fraser Valley, 6-1 | DeKalb rode a fine outing from starter Bill Montgomery to victory over the Fraser Valley Black Bears at The Stetson Bowl. The final score was 6-1. Montgomery, now 1-0, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. The Cornhuskers, now 5-2, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The Cornhuskers got a big at-bat from shortstop Yuichiro Sato. For the game, Sato was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 1st double of the season gave DeKalb a 1-0 lead.
