| Hot Start Continues for Hackers | The Silicon Valley Hackers defeated the Boise Hawks, 6-3, at Basque Block Field. Silicon Valley first baseman Bennett Conroy was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Silicon Valley reliever Luis Silva picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Danny Horn was saddled with the loss. The Hackers, now 5-1, have been on a roll in the early going.
Conroy had a game-changing triple in the top of the sixth. On a 0-1 fastball from Danny Horn, he banged a run-scoring triple to left, giving the Hackers a 4-3 lead. It was the 1st triple of the year for Conroy.
"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Conroy.
