| Shamrocks Lose, 5-4, at Mitts Fieldhouse | The Marysville Monarchs racked up a win at Mitts Fieldhouse, bumping off the Pacifica Shamrocks, 5-4. Lazaro Flores, who started for Marysville, pitched effectively for his team. A.J. Schneider earned the save, his 1st. The win pushes Marysville to a record of 3-3.
Jose Rivera had a big run-scoring single for the Monarchs in the bottom of the second inning. With Marysville leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Luis Santana and stroked the single to right. It was his 6th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Monarchs ahead, 2-0.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Rivera. "Just do my job."
