| Beavers Topple Rhinos with Late Rally | The Portland Beavers faced a tough opponent in Rubber City pitcher Mike Sapienza, but did just enough to pull out the victory at The Rubber Grounds by a final score of 4-3. Sapienza went 7 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. The Beavers have an impressive 21-12 record.
Phil Kinch drew 1 walk for Portland. The 31-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With no one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Rudy Cortez. It was his 16th RBI of the season.
