| Hackers Jolt Hawks with Late Rally | The Silicon Valley Hackers racked up a win at Basque Block Field, bumping off the Boise Hawks, 4-3. Eddy Gil, who started for Silicon Valley, pitched effectively for his team. Silicon Valley reliever Britt Diaz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ray Toye was saddled with the loss. Chris Berreth got the save, the 1st for him this season.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Luis Colón came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Boise pitcher Ray Toye, he hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Silicon Valley on top, 4-3.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Gil.
Silicon Valley goes to 4-1 with the win.
