The inspired effort of Boise third baseman Cletus Roop was not enough to prevent a 10-5 loss to the Silicon Valley Hackers. Roop went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Remco Hassink, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 5 runs on 5 hits in 6.1 innings. Getting the save was Danny Wade, his 1st.

Bennett Conroy aided the Silicon Valley cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the first. For the game, the first baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2.
