| Cornhuskers Get Close Win Over Spartans | DeKalb turned a good effort from starter Bill Montgomery into a win over the Sandy Springs Spartans at The Coliseum. The final score was 3-1. Reliever Kouichi Hayashi picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Tom Nichols took the loss. Ray Burns nailed down his 2nd save.
Gerald Easler chipped in for DeKalb with a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth. For the game, the designated hitter had 3 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 2 singles, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
