Edwards Now 1-0 After Subduing Beavers

The Rubber Grounds was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.

Mark Edwards never let the Beavers get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Rhinos to a 2-0 win. Rudy Cortez picked up the save for Rubber City, his 1st of the year.

Edwards allowed no earned runs on 5 hits over 8.1 innings for the Rhinos. He walked 0 and struck out 7.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Edwards said after the game.

Losses have been few and far between for the Beavers so far this season. Their record drops to 2-1.
