| Racers Bridle Baristas, 4-3 | Bowling Green and Silver Lake duked it out at Top of the Hill and the Racers came out victorious.
Bowling Green withstood an impressive performance by Silver Lake third baseman Vernon Prest to defeat the Baristas, 4-3, at Top of the Hill. Prest was 3-4 with 3 singles. Jim Shelby, credited with the win, is now 6-8. He allowed 3 runs on 11 hits in 5.2 innings.
The Racers used some clutch hitting to beat the Baristas, a good example being the at-bat of George Brett Jr. in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, Brett Jr. gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he hit a 2-run double.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Brett Jr.. "And not try to do too much."
The Racers, at 74-87, sit in 4th place in the RCL AAA Tony La Russa Division.
