| Bombers Continue Skid Thanks to Bidwell, Kodiaks | The Calgary Kodiaks knocked off the Bronx Bombers, 5-3, at Foothills Stadium. John Bidwell, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Calgary won. The second baseman went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Reliever Alex Nambo picked up the win. His record improves to 8-0. Austin Drake took the loss. Joe Manfredi was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 9 save opportunities.
Bidwell had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 cutter from Austin Drake, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Kodiaks a 4-3 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Bidwell.
"We played hard and won," said Bidwell. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The 4th-place Bombers have dropped 4 straight games.
