Bears Lose 5-2 Decision to Rockets

Reno played host to Birmingham at the friendly confines of Red Rocket Field.

The Reno Rockets got a stellar effort from pitcher José Toro, helping Reno score a 5-2 win over the visiting Birmingham Bears. Toro got the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. Toro allowed 1 earned run.

The Rockets got a big at-bat from catcher Brian Hawkins. For the game, Hawkins was 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 11th hit of the season gave Reno a 3-1 lead.
