| Raiders Turn Back Joplin, 3-1 | The Reno Raiders topped the Joplin Fireballs, 3-1, in TMLAAA action at The Firepit. The player of the game was Reno pitcher Mal Goff. Diego Contreras notched his 34th save in 40 chances. Reno now owns a record of 67-92.
Had Orrin Martell not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Martell hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Raiders.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Goff.
