The Portland Beavers defeated the Rubber City Rhinos, 8-1, at The Rubber Grounds today. Leading the charge for Portland was left fielder Eddie Villegas. He was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. The win brings the Beavers to 20-12, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Villegas had a key at-bat for Portland early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and gave Portland an early 2-0 lead.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Villegas.
