| Sphinx Edge Baristas, 6-5 | The Cairo Sphinx defeated the Silver Lake Baristas, 6-5. Earning player of the game honors was third baseman Vernon Prest, who was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Cairo reliever Aubert Licci was the winner. His record is now 6-0. The losing pitcher was Silvino Fagundo. William MacDougal was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 16 of 21 save opportunities.
Had Noam Foucher not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Foucher hit a solo home run. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Sphinx.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Foucher told the Cairo Gazette.
The Sphinx bumped their record to 86-68 with this latest triumph.
