Earthquakes Walk Off with 3-2 Win

San Francisco overcame a superlative game from Joey Steamer to beat Bloomington, 3-2. The Bloomington pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. An-te-hai Xin got credit for the win, improving to 3-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 0.1 innings. The win leaves San Francisco with a record of 15-17.

Hisaji Maekawa was the walk-off hero for San Francisco. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Earthquakes pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Maekawa described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
