The Bronx Bombers did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Astoria Argonauts at Golden Fleece Park. Nobody did more than left fielder Jihei Suyama, who captured player of the game honors. Steve Misiak earned his 1st save in 1 chances. Bronx has a 4-game win streak, while Astoria has lost 4 in a row.

The Bombers got a big at-bat from shortstop Carlos Romero. For the game, Romero was 3 for 5 with a triple and a double. In the top of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 7th double of the season gave Bronx a 5-4 lead.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Bronx field general Glen Slaughter.
