| Cats Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Canadians | Fort Worth beat Vancouver at LaGrave Field, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher José López, who earned player of the game honors. Jamie Newitt got credit for the win, improving to 9-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.2 innings. The Cats bumped their record to 80-71 with this latest triumph.
Yaichiro Yokoyama had the critical at-bat for Fort Worth. With no one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, he hit a walk-off run-scoring single. It gave Fort Worth the 3-2 walk-off win.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Vancouver manager Anthony Weinstein.
