| Freeze Prevail, 4-2, Over Detroit | The Minneapolis Freeze got a strong performance from pitcher Alex Alvarez, who stymied the Detroit offense en route to a 4-2 win at The Death Star. Alvarez picked up the win for Minneapolis, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3. Sean Bonin was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 9 save opportunities.
The Freeze got a big at-bat from first baseman Keita Sato. For the game, Sato was 1 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the seventh, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave Minneapolis a 3-2 lead.
