Multi-HR Day for Bourque as Bombers Overpower Coal Miners, 14-9

Bronx catcher Matt Bourque had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 14-9 win over the Antioch Coal Miners. Lance Rose earned the win to go to 1-1. He allowed 1 earned run on 9 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts. The Bombers bumped their record to 81-69 with this latest triumph.

Bourque contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Bronx in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 5-3, Bourque took a fastball from Dennis Montgomery and stroked the home run to left. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Bombers to leap in front, 6-5.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Glen Slaughter said.
