Fireballs Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras

The Joplin Fireballs overcame a good performance by Candiac first baseman Don Buller to knock off Candiac, 7-6, at The Firepit. Buller went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The Fireballs bumped their record to 75-75 with this latest triumph.

Joplin won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Michael Walsh on the mound for Candiac, catcher Shane Appel hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Fireballs fans to their feet.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Nobuharu Chikafuji.
