| Victory Pushes Death Stars Record to 84-65 | Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Chris Whatley, the Detroit Death Stars defeated the Minneapolis Freeze, 11-3. Whatley was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Death Stars. Jesús Rivera picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-3. He struck out 3 in 6 innings. Yukihiro Nakamoto got the save, his 4th in 5 chances.
The Death Stars got a big at-bat from center fielder Shigeaki Yoshida. For the game, Yoshida went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Detroit a 6-3 lead.
